Ricoh GR III is a compact camera designed for really serious photography. Despite its pocket-friendly format, it has performance equal to that of a system camera and also gives you manual control over exposure and other important settings. It even has an accessory shoe that allows you to mount an external flash, for example. Pentax AF360 FGZ or AF201FG.
Easy to use, solid built and reliable
The camera body is made of strong and durable but also light magnesium alloy. The weight is only 257 grams, including battery and memory card. Well-positioned buttons, dual command dials (front and rear) for shutter speed and aperture settings as well as a high resolution 3-inch touch screen are within easy reach of your fingers and make Ricoh GR III a camera that you will quickly learn to use.
But of course, it also has automatic exposure modes, such as Program, Av and TV, for occasions when you want to be able to hand over some of the decisions to the camera's powerful processor. The autofocus works with both contrast and phase detection and provides a quick and reliable focus in all lighting conditions.
APS-C size sensor
To provide the best possible picture quality, the Ricoh GR III is equipped with a 24,2 megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor, which provides great detail and low noise even at high ISO settings. The light-collecting capability of the large image sensor provides a sensitivity range that extends up to an incredible ISO 102 400! The images can be saved in both JPEG and 14-bit RAW for occasions when you need maximum quality. The camera even has a feature that allows you to edit and convert RAW files to JPEG if you want to be able to share them when you don't have access to a computer.
Image stabilization with 4 step advantage
The sensor has also been equipped with an image stabilization function (SR - Shake Reduction) which compensates for camera shake in three axis and allows you to take sharp images at up to four steps longer shutter speed than you would normally need without using a tripod. A feature you will never want to be without, once you have experienced its benefits!
High-class wide-angle optics
To match the pixel-dense image sensor, the lens must also be of the highest class. The Ricoh GR III has a bright and very sharp 18,3 mm f/2,8 wide-angle lens that provides an image angle equivalent to 28 mm for full frame. Perfect for everything from street and documentary photography to travel, architecture, landscapes and even family photos. The optical design includes an element of LD glass and an aspherical element, which together counteract optical errors such as chromatic aberration and distortion and maximize sharpness all the way out to the edges of the picture. The lens has a close-focus of only 6 cm, allowing you to shoot plants, food, and other details to make your image story varied and interesting.
Built-in ND filter
The large aperture of the lens (f/2,8) allows you to photograph in poor lighting conditions. But the camera also has a built-in ND filter that reduces the light with 2 stops and can be activated when you need to take pictures with shallow depth of field even in clear sunshine. Along with the nine-blade aperture, the ND filter helps you capture the subject with a nicely blurred background and soft and beautiful bokeh.
Share photos quickly and easily
Built-in wireless network (LAN) and Bluetooth make it easy to share photos on social media via Ricoh's Image Sync app on your smartphone. The app can also be used to control the camera during photography. A USB-C port is also available for those who prefer to use a cable for the image transfer.
